Boyden Farm Conservation Area
The Boyden Conservation area contains 48 acres including 730 feet on Peter's Pond, a large wildlife management area, and walking trail. State released wild turkeys nested on the property in 1990. Also inhabiting this area are white-tailed deer, red fox, raccoons, owls, broad-wing hawks, and a variety of other birds and animals.
The conservation land was once a farm owned by W.E. Boyden that ran down to the shore of Peter's Pond. Agricultural activities ended in 1932 and in 1986, the land was purchased by the town. The area is now preserved by the Sandwich Conservation Commission.
